Happy Monday, I hope everyone had a great weekend. This past Friday night I went to Crush Craft Thai Street Eats for the first time. It has been on my list for a while for a couple of reasons, 1. my most recent obsession with Thai food 2. It is cheap and 3. It is cute (very official reason).
Crush Craft's rustic wood finishings, stacks of ingredients lining the walls, vibrant streamors hanging from the ceiling and paper lanterns, all set a relaxed and young vibe. Don't let the word young fool you - customers of all age ranges were dining with us.
Crush Craft is located in the Quadrangle so parking is a little rough, but it is worth it. The menu has a wide variety of options ranging from heavier fare to tasty but light fare. I currently have a curry addiction so I went with the #4 Gang Keo Wan - Jasmine rice, chicken, coconut green curry, plus veggies. Upon ordering I was informed that this was the spiciest dish on the menu. It definitely was spicy, but it was delicious. My date for the evening ordered #6 Gang Panang Neau - Jasmine rice, beef, red curry, plus veggies. A lighter dish than the one I selected, slightly sweet, less spicy, but with a subtle burn at the end. It also comes with homemade pickles, which is always a good add on. Crush Craft met our expectations so much we went on Sunday for dinner. I decided to branch out and get the #7 Khao Soi - Egg noodles, chicken, curry sauce, shallots, pickled veggies, chili oil, and a boiled egg. This dish was slightly similar to my last choice and almost as spicy. The dish came with crunchy wonton toppings, which was an excellent opposition to the soft egg noodles. This time around we also ordered a small cup of Tom Kha Gai soup, which was not our favorite. It was like sweet and sour soup with coconut milk. Not my thing, but maybe it will be yours. All in all...Crush Craft is a gem.
Crush Craft prides themselves on using local vendors and providing authentic food even smashing their chilies by hand. Oh did I mention there is a chili bar - every type of spicy addition you could possibly want - or you could just order the spiciest dishes on the menu like me.
